1. Who we are

2. Agreement

By using our AI writing software (the "Service") you accept these Terms plus our Privacy & Refund Policies.

3. Service description

SidekickWriter is self-service SaaS. It turns your prompts and outlines into draft text via generative-AI APIs. We do not sell bespoke human "ghost-writing" or ready-made academic papers. You remain the author and decide how to publish or share the output.

4. Acceptable use & academic integrity

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
  • If you write academic or scientific work, follow your institution's rules on generative-AI disclosure, citation, and plagiarism checks.
  • Do not
    • submit AI output as "solely human-authored" where that is forbidden
    • violate copyright or request illegal content
    • upload personal data you lack permission to share
    • reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach this policy without notice.

5. User content & responsibility

  • You own the drafts the AI produces for you.
  • You grant us a limited licence to process and store that content solely to operate and improve the Service when you make a request for troubleshooting by providing security code of your project.
  • You are solely responsible for verifying accuracy, securing any permissions, and ensuring the final text complies with all laws (e.g. defamation, privacy, copyright, export control). SidekickWriter acts only as a tool provider, similar to a word-processor or kitchen knife.

6. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold SidekickWriter harmless from any claim, loss, or cost (including attorney fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of the Service, or your content.

7. DMCA / takedown

If we receive a valid copyright-infringement notice regarding content generated or stored through your account, we may remove the material and notify you. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.

8. Plans, pricing & billing

Current plans: https://sidekickwriter.com/pricing. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (Merchant of Record), which handles VAT/GST, invoices, and consumer refunds (see Refund Policy).

9. Refunds

See Refund Policy. Refunds may be issued where required by law or at Paddle's discretion.

10. Beta features & AI assistant

Certain features of the Service, including the in-app AI assistant ("Penny"), are labeled as Beta. Beta features are experimental and provided "as-is" without any warranty of accuracy or completeness. Responses generated by beta features may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading and do not constitute a guarantee, promise, or binding representation of the Service's capabilities.

SidekickWriter provides a free plan so that users can explore and verify the platform's features before making a purchase. You are strongly encouraged to test any capability yourself on the free plan before upgrading to a paid plan. Purchase decisions should be based on your own experience with the product, official product descriptions on our website, and our documentation — not solely on responses from beta features.

SidekickWriter is not liable for any purchase decision made in reliance on information provided by a beta feature that does not accurately reflect the actual capabilities of the Service.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as-is" with no warranty of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. AI may output errors, hallucinations, or copyrighted text; always review before publication.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the greater of (a) three times the fees you paid in the previous 12 months or (b) USD 100.

13. Termination

We may suspend or close your account for breach; you may cancel anytime in your dashboard. Sections 6, 7, 11–13 survive termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Indonesian law; courts of Makassar have exclusive jurisdiction.
